2014 Digital Immersive Learning Academy

This two-day users group gathering is designed to support the growing community of educators who are using immersive domed learning spaces to do interactive teaching with students. This Academy will be designed around the technical, content, and pedagogical needs of this community and will include:

  • Running Uniview 1.6

  • Introduction to the dome version of NASA’s Eyes on the Earth and Eyes on the Solar System

  • Introduction to WorldViewer

  • Simple steps for creating original fulldome content

  • NASA - HST Andromeda's Treasure installation and training

  • Tips and tricks for teaching in the dome

  • An opportunity for you to demonstrate your presentation style and share productions you have developed or any other presentation tips and tools you have.

This Academy will take place at the Como Planetarium in St. Paul, and is designed for educators who are currently using or familiar with tools like Uniview.  While this Academy is designed to support an existing community of users, new educators are welcomed to attend.

There is no fee to attend, but all participants are required to register. Detailed times and agenda to come. Plan on 6-8 hours in the planetarium each day and a social event on Wednesday evening.
